Irrigation Protocols and Guidelines
Every 100 shares held by the Shareholder, equates to 1 litre per second of water allocation.
Delivery is subject to the Terms of Water Supply.
If you wish to shut your water off, please notify your Scheme Operator prior to doing so. If you need to shut the water off due to an emergency, please notify your Scheme Operator as soon as practicable.
Unless previously arranged, do not start up without your Scheme Operator’s consent.
Ringing Times
Scheme Operators are available on their cell phones on weekdays between 7.30 am and 5.00 pm.
Please avoid evening or weekend calls except in an emergency. If a Scheme Operator is unavailable, leaving a message on the cell phone is the quickest way to reach them.
During weekends, the phone will divert to the duty Scheme Operator.
Emergencies
If you wish to shut down due to a heavy rain event, please liaise with your Scheme Operator. Mass shutdowns must be orchestrated by the Scheme Operator to avoid flooding. Turnouts and gates may be required to stay open to control potential road flooding.
Notify your Scheme Operator immediately of any scheme-related road flooding.
If you suspect scheme water is somewhere other than it should be, please notify your Scheme Operator.
Water Control
It is every shareholder’s responsibility to ensure that allocated irrigation water stays within farm boundaries.
No water shall be allowed on roads. Please ensure that border dyke runs and spray irrigators do not put water on roads.
We understand accidents can happen due to clock failures or breakdowns, but please notify your Scheme Operator of any road flooding.
If you share a scheme race with other users and unless previously arranged with your Scheme Operator, please ensure that at the end of watering, you close any open turnouts or gates and remove boards from weirs.
Pond overflows are the farm's responsibility and returning flows can cause downstream flooding. Please ensure you watch the pond level and adjust your orders to finish before your pond overflows.
